Antalya Aquarium Tour

We pick you up from your hotel in the Side area in the morning. On the drive of about an hour, your guide introduces himself, explains the programme and tells you about Antalya's culture, geography, agriculture and history. Our first stop is the Lower Düden Waterfall (Karpuzkaldıran), the largest waterfall in Antalya. You have 30 minutes here: rising in the Taurus Mountains, the Düden River flows across the fertile plain, partly underground and partly above ground, before plunging 38 metres into the Mediterranean.

Next we head to Antalya Aquarium. Opened in 2012, it has the world's largest tunnel aquarium – 131 metres long and 3 metres wide. Its 64 tanks, holding 6,800 cubic metres of water, are home to more than 10,000 sea creatures from the Mediterranean as well as the Indian Ocean, the Red Sea, the Atlantic and the Pacific. The displays even include wrecks of aircraft, ships and submarines.

Your guide buys the tickets and hands them out, and you have 2 hours in total for the visit. You enter the aquarium on the 3rd floor and should allow about 45 minutes to an hour for it. With the same ticket you then visit the wax museum on the 4th floor, with life-size figures of nearly 100 world-famous musicians, actors, politicians and scientists (30–45 minutes).

A 15-minute drive takes us to Kaleiçi, the old town, where you have 2 hours of free time. Explore the Roman city walls, Hadrian's Gate, Hıdırlık Tower, the 13th-century Fluted Minaret – the symbol of the city – and Ottoman houses and mosques. The streets are like a maze, so be careful not to get lost! You can browse the shops or relax in a café and enjoy the unique views. We then head back, arriving at your hotel between 17:15 and 18:00.
