Adler Canyon & Selge Ancient City

Depending on where your hotel is, we pick you up in an air-conditioned vehicle between 8:30 and 9:15. Our starting point lies at the foot of the Taurus Mountains, about 50 minutes from Side. After a ten-minute introduction from our guides in several languages, we head up to the ancient city of Selge, 11 kilometres away at around 1,400 metres.

Along the way we make short stops at the Adam Rocks, Köprülü Canyon and the Köprüçay River, as well as at viewpoints of unique beauty – perfect for unforgettable photos and videos. Our guides tell you about the history and geography of the region and accompany you to every sight worth seeing.

Over the centuries Selge came under the rule of Alexander the Great, the Romans, the Seljuks and the Ottomans. At its height the city had up to 20,000 inhabitants, and its produce was carried down the Köprüçay to Aspendos, Perge and Side.

After the visit to Selge, our restaurant on the banks of the Köprüçay serves a local lunch with views of the Taurus Mountains and the river, and you have the chance to swim in the river. Afterwards we visit Tazı Canyon: up to 410 metres high and 40 metres wide, it is a first-degree protected area with a breathtaking panorama.

On the way back we stop for tea and coffee at our village café with a wonderful view, before bringing you back to your hotel.
